About Olivia

I am a catalyst for defining next-generation product experiences. My specialties include creating imaginative concepts and interactions for first of kind technology, leading design collaborations with engineering and product design teams, and planning end-user research efforts.

My professional career started with Industrial Design and has led me to a focus on User Experience, User Research, and HFE/Usability.  I describe myself (and UX Design in general) as a catalyst for design-driven innovation.  For the past 6 years, I have been designing interactions, both physical and digital, for first of kind medical and life science technologies based on insights collected through user research.  Previously, I lead design projects and contributed to the design of AR interfaces and embedded touch screen interfaces on medical, consumer medical, and life science devices from start to finish.  Now, I work for Siemens Healthineers as part of the central Experience Design team. We collaborate with all business lines to design a holistic, coherent, and delightful experience for the entire Siemens Healthineers product portfolio. I work in multidisciplinary teams on a variety of projects ranging from surgical/medical devices, laboratory devices, consumer health products, to work environments, mobile applications, augmented reality, and artificial intelligence interfaces.  My professional focus is on User Research, Usability/UX of physical and digital products, and HFE Process Definition in the Medical and Life Science Device and Consumer Healthcare field.

Outside the office, I share my design expertise with young designers as an Adjunct Professor at Kean University Robert Busch School of Design. I have instructed courses in Industrial Design and Design Fundamentals ranging from freshman to senior levels.
